Pre Spawn Smallmouth
Apologies for the absence of reports. Technical difficulties seem to be resolved now. The ice out was late as expected. Lakes opened between May 1st to May 12th with some extremely warm weather. Within days walleye and bass fishing took off providing great action. We had some great walleye and pre-spawn smallmouth action with water temps jumping into the 50's very quickly on smaller lakes and flowages. Fishing shallow ( 2 to 8 foot deep ) with minnow baits and jig /plastic combos taking the bulk of the fish.
